Robotics Competition Brings Area Students Together

The Suffield Shakedown was held on Saturday.

Teams of students from throughout North Central Connecticut and beyond gathered at Suffield High School Saturday for the 11th Annual Suffield Shakedown, a FIRST Robotics scrimmage.

The friendly competition was the first of the season for many teams, who spent the past six weeks building and programming robots to compete in a basketball-inspired match of electronics and wits.

Local teams represented in the contest included:

Buzz Robotics - Enfield

Aces High - Suffield/Windsor Locks

Bobcat Robotics - South Windsor

The 2nd Law Enforcers - Farmington

Cyber Knights - Southington

UberBots - Avon

Granby Grunts - Granby

Sim-City - Simsbury

R.A.G.E. (Robotics and Gadget Engineering) Robotics - Rockville/Tolland/Bolton

Thank you Jenn! The list of teams from the scrimmage has R.A.G.E. down as a team from East Hartford (not a Patch town), but I've included the team on the list as having team members from towns I was able to confirm. Thank you for letting me know.
