SHS Sports Wrap

A look back at this week in sports at Southington High School.

It’s hard to believe that the regular season for Southington High sports teams is coming to an end. The CIAC tournaments begin in earnest following Memorial Day with most of the state finals slated for June 10-11.

Rain was the dominant newsmaker this past week as inclement weather for five consecutive days impacted the schedule, forcing teams to scramble to find openings to make up games. The CIAC is allowing games to be played today, but don’t expect any changes to the cutoff dates to qualify for the postseason.
