Softball Star Jordyn Moquin Commits to Mercy College

Moquin has made a name for herself at Southington High School, compiling a 26-3 record and 0.42 ERA so far in three years on the varsity softball team.

It’s official; Southington High School softball star Jordyn Moquin will keep her talents in the northeast following graduation next June.

Moquin on Monday announced her decision to sign a letter of intent during a special press conference at Southington High School, committing to play ball at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. She was one of just 40 students accepted into their business honors program.

Southington High School Athletic Department Administrative Assistant Lee McLean released the following on Monday:

(Moquin) has been a Southington softball varsity player since freshman year. Compiling a 26-3 record 0.42 era and a .372 batting average.

In her junior year led her team to the class LL final pitching two no hitters and a perfect game in the regular season. She was a first team All State and All Conference selection, NFCA and ESPN east region player of the week. She has been a two-sport athlete playing volleyball all four seasons, varsity starter junior and senior years.

She also appeared in the class LL final junior year and semi final senior year. Jordyn has been playing travel ball since age 10. She started with the Southington Lightning and played for organizations such as Connecticut Eliminators, Connecticut Tradition and the Bay State Cardinals. This summer she will be playing for Tradition.

(Moquin) has been an honor student at Southington High since freshman year. She will be studying business at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., next fall. She is one of only 40 students accepted into their business honors program.
