Southington Boys Volleyball Takes Tough Loss
Staples High School of Westport wins the regular season match in three straight sets.
The Southington Blue Knights fought hard, but were no match for playoff rival Staples High School of Westport Friday night as Staples took the match in three straight sets.
The Friday night match was the first regular season meeting between the two teams and Staples made the best of their opportunity, showing the Blue Knights what they have as both teams seek a return to the title game in 2011, with consecutive victories at 25-20, 25-7 and 25-21.
The two teams have become powerhouses in the state in recent years, meeting in the playoffs and challenging each other.
