Students Work to Prevent Substance Abuse

Knights of Columbus Isabella Council 15 award St. Thomas School fifth-graders as contest winners.

The Knights of Columbus, Isabella Council #15, sponsored a poster contest for students in the 5th grade. The theme of the posters was Preventing Substance Abuse. The Knights chose 3 grand prize winners out of 15 submitted entries. The Knights came to St. Thomas School on Friday, March 23, 2012 to make the presentations.

Grand Knight Dennis Kelley was accompanied by fellow Knights, Joe Angelillo, Paul Sirois and Jim Quinn. The 3 student winners were Margaret Galvin, Celia Bajrami and Zachary Waskowicz, whose posters are now at the state competition level judging.

The winners received a certificate and a gift card to coffee and ice cream Shop.
