'Unexpected Visitor' Lands at Site of New Home on Fieldstone Lane

An empty foundation proved the best landing spot for a hot air balloon Sunday morning - and a perfect advertisement for the company selling the property.

It wasn't staged, planned or even expected.

As the black and yellow hot air balloon looked for a safe place to land near Fieldstone Lane in Southington Sunday morning, it found the perfect target in a foundation laid for a new home.

The catch? The balloon, not affiliated with Southington's Century 21 All Points Realty office, came down in perfect view of the sign, matching the advertisement for the home being built.

"A hole was dug for the foundation and it landed right in it on the cul-de-sac," said Lillian Polak, the realtor overseeing the listing at Lot 8. "I would say we has an interested visitor."
