2013 Team Republican

Southington has a great history that is treasured by its residents. In Southington, it is the people who honor their town through their spirit and pride in good citizenship, their words and deeds, and their collective and individual service to their community.

Today, Team Republican takes special pride in bringing to your attention the service of Southington’s elected officials of the Town Council, Board of Education, Board of Finance, Planning & Zoning Commission, Water Board and Town Clerk in a record-level of progress and achievement and a new culture of forward-thinking, planning and action in municipal government and public education, led by a Republican majority administration in the past four years and a Republican super-majority in the past two years.

During that period, the people of Southington have witnessed accomplishments such as, the first phase of a project of magnitude in maintenance and reconstruction of roads, i.e., 36 streets just this first year; the construction of a new Municipal Center, (in close proximity to Town Hall), housing offices of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools, a new Town Meeting Chamber and eight municipal government departments; innovations in communication and technology; creative task prioritized financial management; one of the finest Park & Recreation Departments in the State of Connecticut; improved efficiency in operations and systems; enhanced cost-efficient service to our citizens, including a re-designed website opening the path to an electronic Virtual Town; beginning of reconstruction of our two middle schools and new pilot programs in education, i.e. Vision 2020.

Remember that your vote is important on November 5, 2013 and that is just as important to be a well-informed voter.  We ask you to give Team Republican your vote of confidence, based on its four-year record of demonstrated progress in shaping public policy as we work with the fine staff and teams of our Town Manager, Garry Brumback, and our Superintendent of Schools, Joseph V.
