Proudly Introducing Tom Lombardi for Town Council
TOM LOMBARDI
Occupation: Controller for Centerplan Companies in Middletown, CT
Why are you running for office?
Southington has a great deal to offer its residents and I want to be sure it becomes even greater in the future. Other than my college years in Boston, I have been a lifelong resident of Southington and have been a property owner for many of those years. My goal is to preserve what we already have and to seek opportunities to improve our town and move us in the right direction for generations to come. A very important lesson I learned from a young age was to give back to the community, treat people with respect, and always help others. The great citizens of this community are what truly make this town great and that is the main reason I am running for town council. If elected, I can assure the citizens that I will make educated, informed decisions that are in the best interest of the town and that these decisions ensure the right momentum for our community.

What do you consider the two most important local issues and, if elected, how do you propose to address them?
Lower taxes to encourage smart growth and attract the right businesses to encourage economic development which will grow our tax base and reduce the burden on property owners. Southington must remain an affordable place for people of all ages to live and raise a family.
Fiscal Responsibility- Southington must spend smartly and be in position to fund our services with locally generated funds, not overly relying on outside revenue sources to fund our operations and to be prepared for more cuts to state budgets and additional state mandates.
