Boys Gymnastics Earns First Place Finish in States

A strong showing saw many members of the American Gymnastics Training Center celebrating success.

The American Gymnastics Boys Team competed at the USAG State meet last weekend. With a fantastic season already under their belt, the boys finished strong, with the Level 4’s taking first place as the Connecticut State Champions, and the Level 6’s taking third place in Connecticut. 

Each of the Level 4 boys contributed to the first place win, with medals in each event and the following All-Around scores:

Ages 6-7: Robert DiNatale, 4th-place (Cheshire), Dylan Tu, 11th place (Cheshire).

Ages 8-9: Max Renzi, second place (Southington), Chase Galayda, fifth place in (Southington), Samuel Willametz, 11th place (Berlin), Chase DiMaria-17th AA (Wolcott), Michael Bryant-19th AA (Berlin);

Ages 10-11: Tyler Spinelli, first place (Southington), Connor Daniels, second place (Cheshire). Adding to the success of the weekend was that each of American’s gymnasts eligible to compete (must be Level 5 or higher) in the Regional Championships also qualified: 

Level 5
Ages 7-9: Hadden Gaunt, third place (Wethersfield).

Ages 10-11: Alexander Lipsky, third place (Plantsville).

Level 6
Ages 8-9: Emerson Suski, third place (Southington).

Ages 12+: Nathan Hughes, third place (Prospect), Kendar Serindag, fifth-place (Middletown).

Level 8
Ages 14-15: William Wist, third place (Waterbury). 

Coaches Chris Casso and Eric Ouellette are extremely proud of all the boys and looking forward to a successful regionals competition. The American Gymnastics family commends all the boys on a great season, and wishes both the coaches and boys lots of luck at Regionals!
