Southington South 9/10 Takes State Championship
Little League All Stars move on to Eastern Region Championship.
The Southington South 9/10 District All-Star team is the state champion in its league, having defeated Newington 13-2 on Tuesday in Guilford in the final match of a three-game series.
The team moves on to represent CT in the Eastern Region Championship beginning on Saturday in Cranston, RI.
To get there, Southington South had to overcome its first loss of All-Star play when Newington won the second game of the series.

But Southington South’s offense proved to be too much, having scored 26 runs in the two decisive victories.
