United Way of Southington Reads to Youth

The organization brought residents together last week to read to youngsters in the school system. Are you getting involved in volunteerism?

The United Way of Southington volunteers spent time Friday, June 15, reading to the elementary school students as part of the United Way’s nationwide "Day of Action."

The event drew many volunteers, some who dressed up in costume to read to the youngsters. "Millie" (a.k.a. Val Mazrek) and "Happy Feet" (a.k.a. Ashleigh Haberski) got into character to read, as show above.
