Vote Zaya Oshana for Board of Education

During this time of partisan politics, we need representatives who care for the people they serve and their communities, not the parties to which they belong.  When "the right thing" transcends politics, elected officials are obliged to do what is best for their constituents.

This Election Day, there are many candidates for The Board of Education, but one has the integrity and dedication to serve the children, parents, teachers, and staff in Southington.  Zaya Oshana has been involved in Southington politics for many years serving as Treasurer of the Democratic Town Committee as well the Planning and Zoning Board, both as a member and Chairperson.  His tenure on the BOE has been for one term, and he comes from a family of educators; he learned from the best, Zaya Oshana, Sr., one of Southington's longest serving BOE members. Zaya listens; he is fiscally prudent and aware that technology is important in all classrooms; however, not more important than the teacher. When he says, "My word is my promise," he means it, and I know because I have known Zaya for more than fifty years. He is honorable; a man with an unfinished vision and the fortitude to stand alone when he differs from the majority.
