Southington High School is the second largest in the state and has served over 2,000 students per year for more than a decade. The facilities include a variety of resources and a curriculum that provides opportunities for advanced courses in math, science and writing. The school is also home to the Carl M. Small Vocational Agricultural Center, a regional facility that provides specialized training to Vo-Ag students. The school's mission statement includes teaching students to grow from challenges through a variety of methods including asking questions, exploring ideas, producing work and evaluating results. The school is led by Principal Martin Semmel<strong>. </strong>With a variety of extracurricular activities and competitive interscholastic sports teams that constantly find themselves among the top of CIAC standings, the school is one of the most frequented locations in the entire town.
