<p>The Barnes Museum provides a unique historical perspective of Southington. It was built in 1836 and occupied by 3 generations of Barnes until bequeathed to the town of Southington in 1973 by Bradley Barnes, the grandson of the original owner, Amon Bradley. The home encompasses 17 rooms full of historical furnishings and personal belongings supplemented by information from family diaries kept since 1815.  </p>
<p>Seasonal events and decorations highlight the charm of this extraordinary historical site. There are high teas with a tea tasting in December. The museum participates in Taste of Southington in August.</p> <p>Calenders, postcards and historical publications are for sale in the museum gift shop.</p> <p>Check the website for special seasonal events hosted by the museum.</p>
