I totally agree with you Mr. Cyr and that does not happen often ! Dean Michanczyk should beRead More commended for his works in Plantsville.
Arthur Cyr May 9, 2013 at 10:05 am
This issue has indeed gone on for too long. Most people finally agreed that there had been incorrectRead More information and mis-communication from the start between many parties. Former Town Planner Mary Savage and former Town Engineer Tranquillo turned what should have been a win-win situation into a abuse of power play. Not to say that there was also errors made by professional outside contractors and several attorneys. "Sometimes" everyone needs to simply take a step back and remember what is and what should be in the best interest of the people of Southington. Mr. Solury didn't mention that when Dean started this project, the signs weren't $800-$1,000. I spoke in favor of this compromise 3 months ago and at this meeting. Mr. Florian is correct (this time) - when he say we should all say THANK YOU to Dean Michanczyk for giving us that municipal parking lot!

SELL the building. Any offer over $250,000 and "AS-IS" so the Town is NOT responsible forRead More an environmental clean-up. Since it would cost any town at least that amount using "prevailing wage" and all the other sill restrictions, the Town would actually come out about $500,000 and it becomes a taxable property. And then business people deal with it. And all P&Z regs. Done.

Make this stop!!
