I graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Keene State College in New Hampshire and have always had a relentless passion for not only the written word, but well-intentioned creativity in general.

I began my journalism career in Nashville, Tenn., writing music reviews for The Examiner, a music journalism website. From there, I made my way back to the Northeast and landed a news copy-editing gig at the Middletown (Conn.) Press, eventually moving up to be the Assistant Sports Editor there. Now, lo and behold, I'm the editor of Rocky Hill Patch and am more than looking forward to the experience.

I'm also a closet singer-songwriter with an insatiable appetite for learning new instruments, techniques and styles whenever I can find the time -- something that's becoming more and more impossible as I continue through life. Currently (and this will likely change at any given moment), my go-to album is "Oh My God Charlie Darwin" by The Low Anthem, an up-and-coming folk/country/rock band with major conceptual aspects that go beyond the ubiquitously churned out "pop" garbage that seems to have taken over the music industry for good.

I wanted to steer away from using cliches when describing my religious beliefs, but it seems I'll be joining the herd: I'm spiritual, but not religious. Religion, to me, is a deep, convoluted mystery not meant for solving. If I can continue to be an honest, kind-hearted person willing to do the right thing even when it may not be the easiest way out, I believe it will all turn out just peachy (or Patchy, in this case). I respect everyone's religious beliefs; that, after all, is the glory of living in a free country.

Above all, my goal is to make each and every visitor of my site satisfied with what they take away. And when this goal is not met -- there will be times, I am sure, when it is not -- please e-mail or post your concerns and I will do my best to answer them.
