The Southington South 10U District All Stars Head to the State Championship

The remarkable run of the Southington South 9/10 year old Little League All Stars continued on Tuesday evening when the team claimed the Section 1 championship win a 15-4 win over Wilton on Frazier Field at the McCabe-Waters Little League Complex in Bristol.

With a district all-star record of 11-0, the team has earned the District 5 and Section 1 championship titles, and moves on to face Newington for the state championship in Guilford in a best 2 out of 3 series. Games will be played on both Sat., July 27 & Sun., July 28 at 3pm, and Tues., July 30 at 5:30pm (if necessary) at Adams School, 233 Church Street, Guilford, CT.

"This feels awesome," said Southington South head coach Chris LaPorte. "I don't know what it is about this team, but it doesn't matter what the score is, they just want to play baseball. They don't look at the scoreboard. We hope this run continues this weekend at States."

This is first time since 1969 that a Southington South team has advanced to a state championship.  So grab your maroon t-shirt, get a carload of fans, and come cheer them on!
