The early morning accident at the intersection of South End Road left one man with serious injuries after his car rolled over, police said.

A Bristol man is listed in stable, but critical condition at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury after the car he was driving flipped over along South End Road early Wednesday morning.

Michael A. Carlone, 30, of Bristol, suffered serious injuries in a crash at the intersection of South End Road and Meriden Avenue just 1:30 a.m., according to a press release from the Southington Police Department.

"An investigation revealed that (Carlone) was traveling northbound on South End Road approaching the intersection of Meriden Avenue when Carlone lost control of his vehicle and the vehicle rolled onto its roof on the roadway," the press release said.

"The vehicle went off the road and carne to rest back on its tires north of the intersection."

Carlone sustained serious injuries as a result of this crash, police said, and was treated at the scene before being taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. Hospital staff confirmed Wednesday morning that he is in critical but stable condition.
