No Yolk: Plantsville Woman Charged After Egging Wrong Car

Southington police said the Kendra Mitchell was attempting to strike retaliation on a woman she thought had egged her car but the effort – and a misunderstanding – landed her in handcuffs instead.

A 21-year-old Plantsville woman is facing charges after she egged a passing car along Marion Avenue in retaliation against someone who had egged hers earlier, only to later realize she had targeted the wrong vehicle.

Officers arrested Kendra Mitchell Monday night following the incident along Marion Avenue. Southington police said the driver of the car alerted them to a woman that had thrown eggs at her, nearly causing her to crash, as Mitchell was passing by as a passenger in a different car.

Mitchell, of 150 Burritt St., was taken into custody and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, throwing an object at a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

She was released after posting a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of Sept. 16, police said.

“Kendra told officers that her car had been targeted earlier in the day and she was attempting to seek revenge on the person who did it,” Sg.t Jeffrey Dobratz said. “Police were unable to tie the victim to the earlier incident and it appears she hit the wrong person.”

The car suffered minor damage to the front fender, police said.

Moral of the story: throwing eggs will only leave you with egg on your own face.
